Fall is a great time for cleanup since life is starting to slow down a little bit. The garden is cleaned up and ready for next year, the lawn is taken care of, water
lines drained to the sprinklers and the pivot. Yup, we are starting to wind down on the farming, but now it is time to catch up the other stuff.
Fall is a great time for cleanup
We have lived here for 9 years. In that time we have built our home, planted our yard, a windbreak and built a shop. Now it is time to focus on the corrals and getting ready for more livestock.
When we moved here we brought a lot of stuff with us, you know how you save things thinking I might need that someday! Well, it has been 9 years and we haven’t needed it yet. In the pile of weeds where the corral is going to go, we are finding all kinds of treasures, that we forgot we had. We are cleaning up and clearing it out.
One man’s trash is…..
Amazing the saying is true “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” While it really isn’t trash, just projects we will never get to because life is so busy. So we have advertised these projects on local social media want ad sites, and have started to bring in some extra cash that we can use to purchase and install automatic heated stock water and fencing supplies.
Feels good to clean up
It also feels pretty good to get rid of a lot of these un-needed treasures. Someday our kids will probably thank us also since we will have all of this extra stuff gone.
Not only are we clearing out large pieces of equipment we are also cleaning the corrals moving around portable panels. Cleaning up any piles of twine and other junk that has accumulated over the summer.
Fall is a great time to clean up and maybe even make a little extra cash with all of your un-needed treasures. Enjoy this great fall weather and clean it up before it snows.
